Experience
I worked for the University Tutoring Center during my undergraduate career at the University of Nevada, Reno. I was a Supplemental Instruction leader for a philosophy class with a high fail rate. I led 4 discussions per week, and conducted two-hour long test reviews before exams. I was also a substitute teacher in the Washoe County K-12 system, and therefore have experience working with all ages of students. I want to tutor because I love explaining things in different ways, dialing in a student's learning style, adapting to this style, and seeing students progress in the subject itself and in their confidence. I am currently a Teaching Assistant for the Core Humanities program at UNR. I love having a part in students' progress and developing trusting relationships with them to aid in this process.
