Private tutor in Reno, NV

Education

-Bachelor's in Art (specialization drawing adn sculpture) -Bachelor's in French Both of my degrees were earned at the University of Nevada, Reno! I also graduated from Douglas Co. H.S. in Minden, Nevada.

Experience

I performed exceptionally well on both my ACT and SAT tests. I have long tutored my younger siblings, and feel that I can extend my help to other students. I was always the kind of student that never had to study to do well, but throughout my undergraduate studies, I learned that in order to succeed one has to STUDY! Through trial, error, and experience, I am now a self-made lover and appreciator of education and particularly of studying. I believe that learning isn't scary, studying isn't painful, and that education is a fantastic privilege. I made Dean's list my senior year at UNR for exemplary marks, and I also won the award for best upper division french student in the spring of 2012.

Hobbies

I am simply an art/french major who wants to cultivate his Candide garden a little before choosing what to do for grad school. I have chosen to become an educator by profession, be it a teacher of English in a foreign country or a teacher of the arts and languages here in the U.S., and I can say with pride that I really enjoy teaching and helping people learn. When choosing a tutor, a parent can either choose an obsessive studier, who will tell your children that repetition and endless stress is the answer to scholastic success. I, however, believe that showing the connection between the class material and the real world is the most important thing. For example, when you help a student comprehend the physics of an airplane flying, they will always understand the principles of flight. When you show a student that there are fractals in seashells and symmetry in flowers, they will forever know that there is math in nature. When you teach them how to express themselves in writing, they realize the power of their own voice. These are the things that excite me as a prospective educator and lover of knowledge. I ride bikes, I do art, I read for fun, I love music, and I want to tutor! Thank you!
