I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs with two minors in Spanish and Geography. I am a fluent in the Spanish language. My ending G.P.A. was a 3.36. I am currently in the process of attaining my master's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am hoping to be hired for Washoe County School District in the Fall of 2016! I can't wait to be teaching social studies in middle or high school!
Experience
I currently work as a computer teacher at an elementary school. I am in charge of creating a computer science curriculum. I make sure my students are learning the basic computer skills for today's age. I was a substitute teacher for the Washoe County School District for three years. I taught all subjects and substituted grades K-12. In the Summer of 2012 I taught a two week course on the culture, language, and geography of Spain for Kids University, which takes place at the University of Nevada, Reno. I was employed part time at Jan Evans Juvenile Services for two years. My duties as a Youth Advisor included working with the young female juveniles and instructing and guiding them throughout their day. This job has definitely taught me about the daily struggles adolescents face. I truly enjoy working with children and adolescents. I believe that every child should be encouraged to pursue an academic or career path beyond the high school level. It is our responsibility to show them those opportunities and resources they will need for the "real world".

Hobbies
I enjoy traveling and soaking all the knowledge of that particular culture. I also enjoy working out and living a healthy life. I will be taking my CrossFit Certification in March to become a professional instructor. I am the oldest of four including myself. I believe I have always been put in a position of leadership, naturally in my family and I like to practice this in my daily life. Last, I am in a multicultural sorority named Lambda Phi Xi Multicultural Sorority Incorporated. These women help me set new goals to accomplish and have been a successful support system throughout my college career.
