I am currently a Senior at the University of Nevada Reno. My major is Political science and my minor is History.
Experience
During my high school education I took 10 AP level courses, all within the Liberal Arts focus. The majority focused on history and English, although political science, and economics were part of those. From these I learned both the basics of advanced writing, critical thinking, and an advanced knowledge on many topics. During this time I also developed a keen appreciation for the focus many of my teachers had on creating a diversity in their teaching methods and the personal commitment most had for the success of their students. It is no secret that many AP classes are difficult and as an anecdotal note, without the commitment of these teachers I would not have succeeded on many occasions. At the University of Nevada, Reno I studied Political Science and History where I was able to further develop my writing while learning research methodology. My main focus in political science was on foreign affairs and ideological theory, whereas with History I was much more generalized. I am more than happy to tutor for any undergraduate political science class or history class, but upper divisions will be dependent on my own class history, so just ask if you are curious! For High School I can tutor all the AP classes listed as well as any general history, english or civics class.
